Hello! It’s the Loops Cowl crochet pattern’s turn to shine. This beginner crochet cowl pattern is going to help you create your go-to accessory of the season. Its simple construction and basic stitches lead me to classify it as an easy crochet pattern that is perfect for beginners.

And I know more experienced crocheters are often looking for mellow crochet projects to make, in between those bigger projects. This one is something you can relax, watch tv, grab your favorite beverage and just enjoy the simple stitches. The hardest part is going to be picking out your colors – solid, two-tone, variegated – I think any choice you make is the right one.

Do you make crochet accessories for craft fairs and markets? This classic cowl uses your favorite worsted weight yarn and pairs perfectly with the coordinating ear warmer or hat pattern (both are coming soon!). This cowl takes just a few hours to make and you’ll love how easy it flies on your hook.

Introducing the Loops Cowl Crochet Pattern

When designing this cowl and the other Loops Collection patterns, I was aiming at simple beauty. A quick and easy crochet pattern that isn’t too trendy and more for everyday wear. You can make this cowl in neutral colors so that it goes with everything and can be worn every day, or make it a statement accessory to pair with your favorite outfit. Better yet – make two!

You will make the body of this cowl using front loop only half double crochet stitches, and the trim alternates the front and back loop stitches while working in the round. Lots of loop action here.

The body is made in rows, which is really straightforward and perfect for beginners. You can practice your tension and can customize the size of the cowl by adding or subtracting rows before sewing the ends together.

After that, the trim is added to both edges and after just a few rows you’re ready to throw this on and tackle your day.
