Introducing the November Leaves Mosaic Blanket Section
This month’s November Leaves Mosaic Blanket Strip captures everything I love about fall – the warm tones, the rustling leaves, and those childhood memories of jumping into freshly raked piles. I wanted to design something that reflects that sense of joy and calm that comes when the seasons change.
Using overlay mosaic crochet, this pattern creates the illusion of woven layers and crisp outlines, much like the veins of real leaves. Mosaic crochet is worked by layering stitches over contrasting colors, allowing bold designs to emerge without ever needing to carry yarn across the back. It’s a fun and rhythmic technique that looks far more complex than it feels!
Whether you’re stitching your way through the Months of the Year CAL or joining in just for this section, the November Leaves pattern adds texture and a warm seasonal flair to your blanket. The repeatable motif also works beautifully as a table runner, wall hanging, or scarf for anyone who loves autumn as much as I do.
Even if Thanksgiving isn’t part of your own tradition, this month’s section is a wonderful way to pause and appreciate nature’s beauty – and maybe reflect on what you’re grateful for as the year winds down.
