Rolled up baby blanket with a soft grey stuffed bunny sitting on top

The Color Block Crochet Baby Blanket is a really fun and fast project that you are going to love making for others. It’s a beginner blanket, so if you are new to crochet, this is a great project to get your feet wet with front loop double crochet stitches and easy color changes.

The most popular size is the baby blanket because it makes a great baby shower gift, but there are larger sizes available all the way up to a king bed.

This modern blanket design can be customized to fit any color scheme, boy or girl.

Introducing the Crochet Color Block Baby Blanket

I really love baby blankets that can double as toddler and little kid blankets. As a mom, multi-use gifts are the ones that actually get used in my house. Which, as a gift-maker, are the kinds of gifts I want to make for others.

This baby blanket is something that can grow with kids and is large enough to snuggle with for many, many years.

You can use any kind of super bulky yarn that you like, but I highly recommend Bernat Blanket Yarn. It is durable and not prone to fading or stretching over time. Moms will love that it’s machine washable and dryable, too.

Kids will love this blanket too. It is incredibly cozy and soft and just their size. It fits perfectly in a crib or stroller, and easy to pack for a road trip or overnight at Grandma’s house.
