Everyone needs that go-to winter accessory, right? The Loops Ear Warmer should be yours. It’s an easy crochet ear warmer pattern you can whip up in a few hours. You can keep your ears toasty with this stylish headband that is customizable to any size head and any color combination.

If you are looking to add a new item to crochet for craft fairs, this is a great option too. It uses beginner stitches and the pattern includes directions for all sizes child to adult. It gets its name because all the stitches are either in the front or back loop.

And my personal favorite idea is to use this for all of your holiday gifts this year! Channel your inner Oprah and give all the women and children in your life everyone a crochet headband. You can make two ear warmers from each skein of Wool-Ease yarn used in my sample, which means this is also a low-cost gift to make.

Want to upgrade your gift? Pair it with a coordinating cowl.

Introducing the Loops Crochet Ear Warmer

This crochet ear warmer pattern is perfect for beginners, but experienced crocheters will still love how quickly this one comes together. There’s not a lot of thinking involved, so it’s perfect to make while watching a show or while sitting in the carpool line.

You will make a center body in front loop half double crochet stitches until your desired length. Then, after sewing the ends together you can add the trim. This gives you the option to make the trim in a different color from the body.

I love that headbands don’t require a ton of yarn because then I can use up the scrap yarn I’ve been hoarding and make it into something beautiful.

This pattern is free to read below, but if you want a downloadable, printable version, you’ll definitely want to buy the premium PDF. It has instructions for making all of the sizes or customizing for the size head circumference you need.

Additionally, there are tips on how to adjust this pattern to different weight yarns as well as photos included to show how to join the trim and where to put stitches.

You can buy the ad-free, PDF of this pattern on Etsy, Ravelry, and LoveCrafts.
