Do you love crocheting textured blankets? How about creating texture with different types of stitches? If that sounds like something you love, then you’re in for a fun treat with this crochet blanket strip pattern that is part of the Harmony Throw Crochet-a-long event.

For those who are following along with the CAL, you know this pattern is the 12th and final section! If you haven’t collected all of the sections yet, you can check out the details below to start at the beginning, or pick and choose your favorite sections and create your own custom blanket.

Introducing the Cozy Ridges Textured Blanket Strip

Maybe you’re a texture lover like me and love trying different stitch combinations to see what kind of texture they can create. When this blanket project came along, I really wanted to showcase front and back post stitches.

So as you work through the stitches you will create vertical ridges using a mix of regular double crochet stitches with front and back post double crochet stitches. If you haven’t tried post stitches before, they are made when you insert your hook around the actual base of the stitch rather than under the top loops.

If you want a faster project than a blanket, you could use this strip to make a scarf. Or, you can simply use it as a practice swatch for keeping good tension while working front and back loop stitches.
