Are you or someone you know a crazy plant lady? Or maybe you struggle to keep anything alive. I fall somewhere in between where I love all the plants but haven’t quite managed to figure out how to keep everything alive. So when the idea of creating a corner-to-corner (C2C) plant crochet pattern came along, I knew it was going to be perfect for the plant lovers out there, regardless of your ability to keep things alive.
This snake plant-inspired crochet pattern is part of a crochet-a-long (CAL) made with different designs featuring a wide variety of houseplants. It’s such a fun theme, don’t you think?

Introducing the Snake Plant C2C Crochet Blanket Square
I have a love-hate relationship with the real-life inspiration for this design, my very own snake plant. My dad gave me a few starts of his snake plant for Mother’s Day about three years ago, and while I managed to keep it alive and watch it grow a few new leaves, it recently died off and now I’m starting over. My husband tells me to buy a full-grown plant at the store, but I’d rather try starting anew with some more cuttings and figuring out how to help it flourish.
That’s how it works with crochet projects right? Instead of buying your own blanket, you can make one! Sure, there are times when you mess up, have to rip out a few rows, and start over, but that’s just part of the process. It’s how we learn and how we perfect our craft. Sure, it’s frustrating to have to redo sometimes hours of work, but it’s more satisfying to take the journey.
When making this square, you can use the traditional double crochet C2C or mini C2C which uses half double crochet stitches instead. The materials listed are for the mini or hdc C2C, so if you prefer to use regular double crochet C2C you will need more yarn than listed and your squares will be a little bit larger.

I can not see the chart anywhere, I have tried coming back here multiple times and I a, not sure why it is not there. It is not loading or something, I don’t know but I am wondering if you can email me both charts for the plant cal please. These are the only 2 I have had an issue getting.
Jamie Morris says
Hi Missy! Sorry you’re having trouble accessing the charts. They should display as an image directly below the section titled: How to Make This Snake Plant (or Spider Plant) C2C Blanket Square. They display directly on the blog post or there is a button just below that where you can access a downloadable version.
Missy says
Yes, I know where the images should be but it keeps coming up blank, I see no images at all. And no click here button. I’m not sure why this is happening. That is why I asked if it was possible to send me a copy of the chart. When i go to either plant from the main CAL page it does the same thing.
Jamie Morris says
Ah, ok, appreciate you clarifying and that is not good! Let me send them over to you right now.
Marie says
I cannot find any active link to click to find the charts for the snake plant or the spiderplant blocks. Your answer will be appreciated.
Thanking you in anticipation
Marie

Hi there Marie! You don’t have to have any kind of link to access the charts for either pattern. You can simply view them on the website. However, there is a button just below them that says to click for the free chart. You can enter your email address and the PDF will be sent directly to you. Hope that helps!
