Wow, I cannot believe we are at the end of 2023 already! Can you? It’s been another whirlwind year in my house and I’ve been reminiscing about all of the things that have happened in life and crochet.
We have a kid who hit double digits, another who lost several teeth, and two little girls who keep growing like weeds and their imaginations are taking off. We went to a cousin’s wedding, took the boys on a memorable trip to Disney World, and said our final goodbye to a beloved uncle. It was a busy year for my career with a lot of ups and downs, but I’m most grateful for the challenges that helped me grow and treasured friendships that blossomed. I figured out how to fit exercise back into my daily routine. Our house is a wreck 75% of the time, but in it you will hear plenty of laughter, and of course, some tears along the way. All four kids are growing in their faith and it’s a joy to be their mom. And I’m grateful for my husband who supports me in more ways than I can count.
Amid the busy-ness, I enjoyed bringing 12 crochet patterns to life and put them out there for you. While I didn’t check “host a crochet-along” off of my list for 2023, I hosted a blog hop for the very first time! I collaborated in a few crochet-alongs, including the Plants With Yarn C2C Blanket, Melange Blanket and Serenity Throw.
With the excitement that comes with a new year, I’m also excited about all of the new possibilities that 2024 will bring. We plan to get the girls onto the local ski slopes for the first time, and it’s finally their turn to join a little league team! We’re always excited to cheer on our sports teams throughout the seasons, and hoping our Boilermakers can do big things this year. The fall will bring school for all of the kids and that’s going to be a new adjustment for all of us that we’re looking forward to! I continue to find so much love and joy in creating crochet patterns, and I’m so grateful for you to be a part of my crochet community. A year from now, I hope to look back and see that I’ve challenged myself and grown in new ways. I have some crochet collaborations and collections I’m very excited about too!
